DESCRIPTION:Additional Content\nIn an age of generative AI\, how can we use digital media to interrogate key aesthetic concepts such as originality and artistic value? Following our call for submissions for the upcoming Visionary Machines exhibition in August\, we are pleased to invite you to a hands-on one-day workshop designed to bridge literary studies\, digital humanities\, and creative technology. \nWhether you are interested in learning more about Romanticism\, picking up new creative skills\, or meeting like-minded collaborators\, this workshop offers a supportive space to experiment and create. No programming or technical background required. \n  \nVisionary Machines: Literary Studies & Art/Tech Workshop  \nDate: 18 July 2026 (Saturday) \nTime: 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM \nVenue: HKU Arts Tech Lab \nAdmission: Free and open to all students and members of the public (Light lunch included) \n  \nWorkshop Schedule  \n10:30 | Registration and tea/coffee \n11:00 | Introduction – Romanticism and the Machine (Prof. Tara Lee) \n11:45 | Creative Prototyping with GenAI \n12:30 | Intro to Audio-Reactive Installations \n13:00 | Light lunch (provided) \n13:30 | Time to Create! Work individually or form groups to brainstorm\, draft concepts\, and build rough prototypes of your ideas using digital or traditional media.
